Country SMS catalogue
Search the Benin catalogue for the service sending your code, then check the offer and allocated number. Benin’s move to a ten-digit national plan makes current number representation especially important when comparing old online examples with an active order.

ARCEP Benin announced the change from eight to ten national digits from 30 November 2024. Existing ordinary numbers moved to the new structure by adding 01 before the former eight digits. The international country code remains +229.
The added 01 belongs to that national number structure. Do not remove its first 0 using a generic rule copied from another country’s trunk-prefix guide. An older eight-digit example may be out of date even when the page displaying it looks recent.
Use the number supplied by the active order as your starting point. If it already follows the current structure, do not add 01 again. If an allocation or destination field appears inconsistent with the current plan, resolve the discrepancy before requesting a code.
An app may provide +229 separately or require the complete international value. Follow its layout while preserving the national digits. Do not shorten a current Benin number to fit an old example or a field that appears to expect the previous length.
Filter the service list for the website or app that will send the SMS. Review its current Benin price, availability and order conditions. The offer under that exact sender is more relevant than the cheapest price advertised for the country as a whole.
A listed service still has its own acceptance rules. Check the intended verification step and any product restrictions before allocating a number; catalogue presence alone is not a test result for every account workflow.
This is the standard Benin country catalogue. RynoSMS also has a separately labelled Benin DY route. That label should be treated as a distinct catalogue selection whose product details need review, rather than as another sovereign country or a different official country code.
If you arrived with a specific DY route reference, use that route’s page to inspect its offers. Otherwise, begin here for general Benin receiving and +229 format guidance.
Prepare the destination’s verification screen, choose the matching Benin service and read the selected offer. Obtain the number, check its representation against the country field and request the SMS from the destination. Follow the corresponding order while it is active.
If the number is rejected or no message arrives, distinguish a formatting problem from an order-status issue. Use the actual retry, cancellation or support conditions. Provide the service and order reference when asking for help, without sharing the verification code.
A temporary order provides the access described by its terms. If you expect another login or recovery message later, check a suitable rental separately, including duration, renewal and sender scope. A correct ten-digit format does not establish continuing control of the number.
Public inboxes have another limitation: their messages are visible to visitors. Compare access and visibility with the needs of the account before choosing solely on cost.
Frequently asked questions
The migration introduced ten national digits by placing 01 before the former eight-digit ordinary number. The international country code remains +229.
No generic trunk-zero rule should be applied here. The added 01 is part of the migrated national structure. Use the correctly allocated value and check discrepancies before proceeding.
No. A current allocation may already contain it. Adding it again would alter the number. If the format seems outdated, ask for clarification instead of editing the allocation by assumption.
It is a separate route label in the catalogue, not a separate sovereign country or official international code. Use the standard Benin page for general +229 country guidance.
Find your sender, review the current allocation and confirm the access terms before requesting the SMS.
